| The Wing, attached but self-contained, used to be the servants’ quarters. Entering around the side of the manor house, past the medieval grain-store perched on saddle stones, you step into a huge, elegant beautifully furnished dining and kitchen area with stone floors, smooth cream walls, spotlights and a big double sided wood-burning stove.
Light floods in through the kitchen’s mullion windows with stained-glass angels, with not a fitted unit in sight. Also downstairs is a utility room, shower and loo. |
Sink into a big comfy sofa in front of the inglenook in the parlour there’s a panel painted in medieval style on a white wall, with large inglenook fireplace and original bread oven. The living room overlooks the wing’s private sunken garden and fishpond.
Upstairs are three bedrooms: large and peaceful – coir carpeting, Jaquard bedspreads, and floral touches. Two bedrooms have king sized double beds. The third bedroom has twin French Lit Bateau sleigh beds: walk through this room to one of the other bedrooms. The bathroom is white and neat. |
